Project Intent
With this project I set out to explore the concept of 'unrequited', may that be platonic, romantic, or familial relationships where there is an imbalanced dynamic. Acting as a gallery curator of sorts, I selected many different formats of work that explored the theme of unrequited relationships, from poetry, to letters, song lyrics, historical accounts, or psychology journals while visually exploring the theme through the typographic and structural choices made.
The result is a catalogue that uses negative space in an unconventional way and bends the common rules of typography to visually capture the awkward discomfort of juxtaposing relationships, with one side being loud and demanding attention, and the other withdrawn.
