Project Intent
This joyful project intended to summarize all the valuable lessons I had learned from mistakes I made when it came to working with print. By working in the colourful and inherently imperfect medium of Riso printing, the publication is made sincerely un-pretentious and visually approachable, featuring lighthearted quips, advice, and illustrated diagrams. The small format unfolds into four-page spreads of illustrations, graphics, and key terms that a designer would need to approach the world of print. Printed in Florescent Pink and Medium Blue inks as a single duplexed 11x17" sheet, the 16 panel zine unfurls into a colourful poster that utilizes overprinting, knockouts, registration, and many other fundamental print skills.
Initially printed as a 50 copy print run to be sold at the GradEx 2024 GRPH and ILLU Shop.
After nearly selling out, another run of 50 was created to be sold at Toronto Comic Arts Festival 2024.
In July of 2024, the project was selected to be a part of Issues Magazine's annual Zine Shine event and a third edition was printed. It was so kindly received and completely sold out!
